David Thanks God That day David first gave to Asaph and his colleagues this song of thanks to the LORD.

Jehoiada then assigned the duties of the LORD’s temple to the priests, the Levites whom David had assigned to the LORD’s temple. They were responsible for offering burnt sacrifices to the LORD with joy and music, according to the law of Moses and the edict of David.

The entire assembly then decided to celebrate for seven more days; so they joyfully celebrated for seven more days.

The people of Israel– the priests, the Levites, and the rest of the exiles– observed the dedication of this temple of God with joy.

Rejoice in the LORD and be happy, you who are godly! Shout for joy, all you who are morally upright!

Come! Let’s sing for joy to the LORD! Let’s shout out praises to our protector who delivers us!

Worship the LORD in holy attire! Tremble before him, all the earth!

Worship the LORD with joy! Enter his presence with joyful singing!

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice!
