“When you direct your people to march out and fight their enemies, and they direct their prayers to you toward this chosen city and this temple I built for your honor,

When you call out to me and come to me in prayer, I will hear your prayers.

So I turned my attention to the Lord God to implore him by prayer and requests, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes.
