Introduction to the Blessing of Moses This is the blessing Moses the man of God pronounced upon the Israelites before his death.

Just then a prophet arrived from Judah with the LORD’s message for Bethel, as Jeroboam was standing near the altar ready to offer a sacrifice.

The gatekeepers were:Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman, and their brothers. Shallum was the leader;

David told the leaders of the Levites to appoint some of their relatives as musicians; they were to play various instruments, including stringed instruments and cymbals, and to sing loudly and joyfully.

Heman and Jeduthun were in charge of the music, including the trumpets, cymbals, and the other musical instruments used in praising God. The sons of Jeduthun guarded the entrance.

David divided them into groups corresponding to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

David, Zadok(a descendant of Eleazar), and Ahimelech(a descendant of Ithamar) divided them into groups to carry out their assigned responsibilities.

Divisions of Gatekeepers The divisions of the gatekeepers:From the Korahites: Meshelemiah, son of Kore, one of the sons of Asaph.

The priests left the holy place. All the priests who participated had consecrated themselves, no matter which division they represented.

He posted guards at the gates of the LORD’s temple, so no one who was ceremonially unclean in any way could enter.

The People Contribute to the Temple Hezekiah appointed the divisions of the priests and Levites to do their assigned tasks– to offer burnt sacrifices and present offerings and to serve, give thanks, and offer praise in the gates of the LORD’s sanctuary.

The musicians, the descendants of Asaph, manned their posts, as prescribed by David, Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun the king’s prophet. The guards at the various gates did not need to leave their posts, for their fellow Levites made preparations for them.

And the leaders of the Levites were Hashabiah, Sherebiah, Jeshua son of Kadmiel, and their colleagues, who stood opposite them to offer praise and thanks, one contingent corresponding to the other, as specified by David the man of God.

and his colleagues– Shemaiah, Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, Judah, and Hanani– with musical instruments of David the man of God.(Ezra the scribe led them.)

Now while Zechariah was serving as priest before God when his division was on duty,

For David, after he had served God’s purpose in his own generation, died, was buried with his ancestors, and experienced decay,
