So David lived in the fortress and called it the City of David. David built all around it, from the terrace inwards.

King David was told,“The LORD has blessed the family of Obed-Edom and everything he owns because of the ark of God.” So David went and joyfully brought the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David.

Then David passed away and was buried in the City of David.

In addition, he rebuilt the wall of the Pool of Siloam, by the royal garden, as far as the steps that go down from the City of David.

Sing praises to the LORD, who rules in Zion! Tell the nations what he has done!

Many nations will come, saying,“Come on! Let’s go up to the LORD’s mountain, to the temple of Jacob’s God, so he can teach us his ways and we can live by his laws.” For instruction will proceed from Zion, the LORD’s message from Jerusalem.
