TSK · 2 Timothy 2:24

¶ The Lord Commissions Joshua After Moses the LORD’s servant died, the LORD said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant:

Like a shepherd he tends his flock; he gathers up the lambs with his arm; he carries them close to his heart; he leads the ewes along.

He will not quarrel or cry out, nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets.

The next day Moses saw two men fighting, and tried to make peace between them, saying,‘Men, you are brothers; why are you hurting one another?’

There was a great commotion, and some experts in the law from the party of the Pharisees stood up and protested strongly,“We find nothing wrong with this man. What if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him?”

for the weapons of our warfare are not human weapons, but are made powerful by God for tearing down strongholds. We tear down arguments

with all humility and gentleness, with patience, putting up with one another in love,

Do everything without grumbling or arguing,

although we could have imposed our weight as apostles of Christ; instead we became little children among you. Like a nursing mother caring for her own children,

But you, as a person dedicated to God, keep away from all that. Instead pursue righteousness, godliness, faithfulness, love, endurance, and gentleness.

For the overseer must be blameless as one entrusted with God’s work, not arrogant, not prone to anger, not a drunkard, not violent, not greedy for gain.

They must not slander anyone, but be peaceable, gentle, showing complete courtesy to all people.

Living Out the Message Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters! Let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.

You desire and you do not have; you murder and envy and you cannot obtain; you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask;

Condemnation of the False Teachers Dear friends, although I have been eager to write to you about our common salvation, I now feel compelled instead to write to encourage you to contend earnestly for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints.
