The Great Commission So the eleven disciples went to Galilee to the mountain Jesus had designated.

For I too am a man set under authority, with soldiers under me. I say to this one,‘Go!’ and he goes, and to another,‘Come!’ and he comes, and to my slave,‘Do this!’ and he does it.”

But you refuse to believe because you are not my sheep.

So those who accepted his message were baptized, and that day about three thousand people were added.

So there was great joy in that city.

When Paul and Barnabas had a major argument and debate with them, the church appointed Paul and Barnabas and some others from among them to go up to meet with the apostles and elders in Jerusalem about this point of disagreement.

The Voyage to Miletus We went on ahead to the ship and put out to sea for Assos, intending to take Paul aboard there, for he had arranged it this way. He himself was intending to go there by land.

They set a day to meet with him, and they came to him where he was staying in even greater numbers. From morning until evening he explained things to them, testifying about the kingdom of God and trying to convince them about Jesus from both the law of Moses and the prophets.

What then? Israel failed to obtain what it was diligently seeking, but the elect obtained it. The rest were hardened,

and thus the Gentiles glorify God for his mercy. As it is written,“Because of this I will confess you among the Gentiles, and I will sing praises to your name.”

For he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and blameless before him in love.

even though we were dead in offenses, made us alive together with Christ– by grace you are saved!–
