I will give you your rains in their time so that the land will give its yield and the trees of the field will produce their fruit.

then he promises,“I will send rain for your land in its season, the autumn and the spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine, and olive oil.

to cause it to rain on an uninhabited land, a wilderness where there are no human beings,

O LORD, your loyal love reaches to the sky; your faithfulness to the clouds.

You visit the earth and give it rain; you make it rich and fertile. God’s streams are full of water; you provide grain for them, for you have prepared the earth in this way.

How many living things you have made, O LORD! You have exhibited great skill in making all of them; the earth is full of the living things you have made.

Everything looks to you in anticipation, and you provide them with food on a regular basis.

I will make it a wasteland; no one will prune its vines or hoe its ground, and thorns and briers will grow there. I will order the clouds not to drop any rain on it.

They do not say to themselves,“Let us revere the LORD our God. It is he who gives us the autumn rains and the spring rains at the proper time. It is he who assures us of the regular weeks of harvest.”

I will turn them and the regions around my hill into a blessing. I will make showers come down in their season; they will be showers that bring blessing.

so that you may be like your Father in heaven, since he causes the sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

so that they would search for God and perhaps grope around for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.

Command those who are rich in this world’s goods not to be haughty or to set their hope on riches, which are uncertain, but on God who richly provides us with all things for our enjoyment.
