He said to David,“You are more innocent than I, for you have treated me well, even though I have tried to harm you!

When the experts in the law and the Pharisees saw that he was eating with sinners and tax collectors, they said to his disciples,“Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds,“I find no basis for an accusation against this man.”

A third time he said to them,“Why? What wrong has he done? I have found him guilty of no crime deserving death. I will therefore flog him and release him.”

but if it is from God, you will not be able to stop them, or you may even be found fighting against God.” He convinced them,

Therefore if God gave them the same gift as he also gave us after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to hinder God?”

When I returned to Jerusalem and was praying in the temple, I fell into a trance

I found he was accused with reference to controversial questions about their law, but no charge against him deserved death or imprisonment.

When we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic,‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? You are hurting yourself by kicking against the goads.’
