Paul and Barnabas at Pisidian Antioch Then Paul and his companions put out to sea from Paphos and came to Perga in Pamphylia, but John left them and returned to Jerusalem.

but Paul insisted that they should not take along this one who had left them in Pamphylia and had not accompanied them in the work.

Paul answered,“I am a Jew from Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of an important city. Please allow me to speak to the people.”

Afterward I went to the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
