When the LORD raised up leaders for them, the LORD was with each leader and delivered the people from their enemies while the leader remained alive. The LORD felt sorry for them when they cried out in agony because of what their harsh oppressors did to them.
So I am ready to bring disaster on the dynasty of Jeroboam. I will cut off every last male belonging to Jeroboam in Israel, including even the weak and incapacitated. I will burn up the dynasty of Jeroboam, just as one burns manure until it is completely consumed.
Ahab’s entire family will die. I will cut off every last male belonging to Ahab in Israel, including even the weak and incapacitated.
The LORD judges the nations. Vindicate me, LORD, because I am innocent, because I am blameless, O Exalted One!
Turn back toward us, O LORD! How long must this suffering last? Have pity on your servants!
He remembered his covenant with them, and relented because of his great loyal love.

The LORD’s Response Then the LORD became zealous for his land; he had compassion on his people.
