You are to rejoice in your festival, you, your son, your daughter, your male and female slaves, the Levites, the resident foreigners, the orphans, and the widows who are in your villages.
He said to them,“Go and eat delicacies and drink sweet drinks and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared. For this day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
This is why the Jews who are in the rural country– those who live in rural cities– set aside the fourteenth day of the month of Adar for happiness, banqueting, a holiday, and sending gifts to one another.
So now my heart will sing to you and not be silent; O LORD my God, I will always give thanks to you.
Praise the LORD, O my soul! Do not forget all his kind deeds!
At that time you will say:“I praise you, O LORD, for even though you were angry with me, your anger subsided, and you consoled me.
“The LORD of Heaven’s Armies says,‘The fast of the fourth, fifth, seventh, and tenth months will become joyful and happy, pleasant feasts for the house of Judah, so love truth and peace.’
But give from your heart to those in need, and then everything will be clean for you.
