“I have been with you for the past twenty years. Your ewes and female goats have not miscarried, nor have I eaten rams from your flocks.

Now Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to the mountain of God, to Horeb.

But Zipporah took a flint knife, cut off the foreskin of her son and touched it to Moses’ feet, and said,“Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me.”

The Appeal to Hobab Moses said to Hobab son of Reuel, the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law,“We are journeying to the place about which the LORD said,‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us and we will treat you well, for the LORD has promised good things for Israel.”

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content in any circumstance.

choosing rather to be ill-treated with the people of God than to enjoy sin’s fleeting pleasure.

But the rich person’s pride should be in his humiliation, because he will pass away like a wildflower in the meadow.
