“The LORD, the God of heaven, who took me from my father’s house and the land of my relatives, promised me with a solemn oath,‘To your descendants I will give this land.’ He will send his angel before you so that you may find a wife for my son from there.

The angel of the LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire from within a bush. He looked– and the bush was ablaze with fire, but it was not being consumed!

You will bring them in and plant them in the mountain of your inheritance, in the place you made for your residence, O LORD, the sanctuary, O Lord, that your hands have established.

I will send an angel before you, and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

So when we cried to the LORD, he heard our voice and sent a messenger, and has brought us up out of Egypt. Now we are here in Kadesh, a town on the edge of your country.

He answered,“Truly I am the commander of the LORD’s army. Now I have arrived!” Joshua bowed down with his face to the ground and asked,“What does my master want to say to his servant?”

For he will order his angels to protect you in all you do.

On that day the LORD himself will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the weakest among them will be like mighty David, and the dynasty of David will be like God, like the angel of the LORD before them.

Then the king will say to those on his right,‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

And let us not put Christ to the test, as some of them did, and were destroyed by snakes.
