The silver of those who were numbered of the community was one hundred talents and 1,775 shekels, according to the sanctuary shekel,

“Take a census of the whole community of Israelites, from twenty years old and upward, by their clans, everyone who can serve in the army of Israel.”
So we have brought as an offering for the LORD what each man found: gold ornaments, armlets, bracelets, signet rings, earrings, and necklaces, to make atonement for ourselves before the LORD.”
But the king’s edict stood, despite the objections of Joab and the leaders of the army. So Joab and the leaders of the army left the king’s presence in order to muster the Israelite army.
Joab replied,“May the LORD make his army a hundred times larger! My master, O king, do not all of them serve my master? Why does my master want to do this? Why bring judgment on Israel?”
So the LORD sent a plague through Israel, and 70,000 Israelite men died.
So the king summoned Jehoiada the chief priest, and said to him,“Why have you not made the Levites collect from Judah and Jerusalem the tax authorized by Moses the LORD’s servant and by the assembly of Israel at the tent containing the tablets of the law?”
and if God is gracious to him and says,‘Spare him from going down to the place of corruption, I have found a ransom for him,’
Certainly a man cannot rescue his brother; he cannot pay God an adequate ransom price
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
You know that from your empty way of life inherited from your ancestors you were ransomed– not by perishable things like silver or gold,
