but those who did not take the LORD’s message seriously left their servants and their cattle in the field.

As she was dying, the women who were there with her said,“Don’t be afraid! You have given birth to a son!” But she did not reply or pay any attention.

Do not trust in what you can gain by oppression! Do not put false confidence in what you can gain by robbery! If wealth increases, do not become attached to it!

Then I scrutinized it. I was putting my mind to it– I saw; I took in a lesson:

The one who stiffens his neck after numerous rebukes will suddenly be destroyed without remedy.

You said,‘I will rule forever as permanent queen!’ You did not think about these things; you did not consider how it would turn out.

Neither he nor any of his attendants showed any alarm when they heard all that had been read. Nor did they tear their clothes to show any grief or sorrow.

“I withheld rain from you three months before the harvest. I gave rain to one city, but not to another. One field would get rain, but the field that received no rain dried up.

If you do not listen and take seriously the need to honor my name,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies,“I will send judgment on you and turn your blessings into curses– indeed, I have already done so because you are not taking it to heart.
