The Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah The two angels came to Sodom in the evening while Lot was sitting in the city’s gateway. When Lot saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face toward the ground.

Then he had another dream, and told it to his brothers.“Look,” he said.“I had another dream. The sun, the moon, and eleven stars were bowing down to me.”

Then the seven years of famine began, just as Joseph had predicted. There was famine in all the other lands, but throughout the land of Egypt there was food.

While the famine was over all the earth, Joseph opened the storehouses and sold grain to the Egyptians. The famine was severe throughout the land of Egypt.

So Judah and his brothers came back to Joseph’s house. He was still there, and they threw themselves to the ground before him.

They told him,“Joseph is still alive and he is ruler over all the land of Egypt!” Jacob was stunned, for he did not believe them.

When the servant had left, David got up from beside the mound, knelt with his face to the ground, and bowed three times. Then they kissed each other and they both wept, especially David.

and rescued him from all his troubles, and granted him favor and wisdom in the presence of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, who made him ruler over Egypt and over all his household.
