Then he moved from there to the hill country east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the LORD and worshiped the LORD.
So Abram moved his tents and went to live by the oaks of Mamre in Hebron, and he built an altar to the LORD there.
When they came to the place God had told him about, Abraham built the altar there and arranged the wood on it. Next he tied up his son Isaac and placed him on the altar on top of the wood.
There he set up an altar and called it“The God of Israel is God.”

¶ Introduction to the Sacrificial Regulations Then the LORD called to Moses and spoke to him from the Meeting Tent:
Clean and Unclean Land Creatures The LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying to them,
Consecration of the Believer’s Life Therefore I exhort you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a sacrifice– alive, holy, and pleasing to God– which is your reasonable service.
Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, acknowledging his name.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people of his own, so that you may proclaim the virtues of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
