So King Sennacherib of Assyria broke camp and went on his way. He went home and stayed in Nineveh.

They talked about the God of Jerusalem as if he were one of the man-made gods of the nations of the earth.

they came to Zerubbabel and the leaders and said to them,“Let us help you build, for like you we seek your God and we have been sacrificing to him from the time of King Esarhaddon of Assyria, who brought us here.”

Look how you have fallen from the sky, O shining one, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the ground, O conqueror of the nations!

Hezekiah is misleading you when he says,“The LORD will rescue us.” Has any of the gods of the nations rescued his land from the power of the king of Assyria?

“Tell King Hezekiah of Judah this:‘Don’t let your God in whom you trust mislead you when he says,“Jerusalem will not be handed over to the king of Assyria.”
