The Vindication of the Lord“See now that I, indeed I, am he!” says the LORD,“and there is no other god besides me. I kill and give life, I smash and I heal, and none can resist my power.

Then those living on earth will know what you are like; all nations will know how you deliver your people.

Loyal love and faithfulness meet; deliverance and peace greet each other with a kiss.

A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

Justice will be like a belt around his waist, integrity will be like a belt around his hips.

The light of the full moon will be like the sun’s glare and the sun’s glare will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven days, when the LORD binds up his people’s fractured bones and heals their severe wound.

Hezekiah said to Isaiah,“The LORD’s message which you have announced is appropriate.” Then he thought,“For there will be peace and stability during my lifetime.”

All your children will be followers of the LORD, and your children will enjoy great prosperity.

I have seen their behavior, but I will heal them. I will lead them, and I will provide comfort to them and those who mourn with them.

Then your light will shine like the sunrise; your restoration will quickly arrive; your godly behavior will go before you, and the LORD’s splendor will be your rear guard.

LORD, grant me relief from my suffering so that I may have some relief; rescue me from those who persecute me so that I may be rescued, for you give me reason to praise!

The Lord Will Heal the Wounds of Judah Moreover, the LORD says to the people of Zion,“Your injuries are incurable; your wounds are severe.

Superficial Repentance Breeds False Assurance of God’s Forgiveness“Come on! Let’s return to the LORD! He himself has torn us to pieces, but he will heal us! He has injured us, but he will bandage our wounds!

He will arbitrate between many peoples and settle disputes between many distant nations. They will beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nations will not use weapons against other nations, and they will no longer train for war.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.

Peace to the brothers and sisters, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

In the same way God wanted to demonstrate more clearly to the heirs of the promise that his purpose was unchangeable, and so he intervened with an oath,
