First Prediction of Jesus’ Death and Resurrection From that time on Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests, and experts in the law, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.

Then they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus was hidden from them and went out from the temple area.

Then they attempted again to seize him, but he escaped their clutches.

When we heard this, both we and the local people begged him not to go up to Jerusalem.
