After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

But the twelve understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they did not grasp what Jesus meant.

So he said to them,“You foolish people– how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!

So after he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the scripture and the saying that Jesus had spoken.

Jesus replied,“The time has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and will cause you to remember everything I said to you.

And now, Father, glorify me at your side with the glory I had with you before the world was created.

Therefore let all the house of Israel know beyond a doubt that God has made this Jesus whom you crucified both Lord and Christ.”

The High Priest of a Better Covenant Now the main point of what we are saying is this: We have such a high priest, one who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,
