The way of the wicked is like gloomy darkness; they do not know what they stumble over.

“I, the LORD, officially commission you; I take hold of your hand. I protect you and make you a covenant mediator for people, and a light to the nations,

They told him,“Jesus the Nazarene is passing by.”

Then Jesus said,“I will be with you for only a little while longer, and then I am going to the one who sent me.

We must perform the deeds of the one who sent me as long as it is daytime. Night is coming when no one can work.

While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become sons of light.” When Jesus had said these things, he went away and hid himself from them.

I have come as a light into the world, so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in darkness.
