The king says,“I will announce the LORD’s decree. He said to me:‘You are my son! This very day I have become your father!

by making your ear attentive to wisdom, and by turning your heart to understanding,

All of man’s labor is for nothing more than to fill his stomach– yet his appetite is never satisfied!

The Lord Commissions His Special Servant“Here is my servant whom I support, my chosen one in whom I take pleasure. I have placed my Spirit on him; he will make just decrees for the nations.

The Lord Will Rejuvenate His People The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is upon me, because the LORD has chosen me. He has commissioned me to encourage the poor, to help the brokenhearted, to decree the release of captives, and the freeing of prisoners,

Be sure of this! The LORD of Heaven’s Armies has decreed: The nations’ efforts will go up in smoke; their exhausting work will be for nothing.

Lasting Treasure“Do not accumulate for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and devouring insect destroy and where thieves break in and steal.

Jesus said to him,“Foxes have dens, and the birds in the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

And a voice came from heaven:“You are my one dear Son; in you I take great delight.”

and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven,“You are my one dear Son; in you I take great delight.”

Then a voice came from the cloud, saying,“This is my Son, my Chosen One. Listen to him!”

And I did not recognize him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water said to me,‘The one on whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining– this is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’

Jesus replied,“Everyone who drinks some of this water will be thirsty again.

So then they said to him,“What must we do to accomplish the deeds God requires?”

I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats from this bread he will live forever. The bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

This is the bread that came down from heaven; it is not like the bread your ancestors ate, but then later died. The one who eats this bread will live forever.”

I testify about myself and the Father who sent me testifies about me.”

If I do not perform the deeds of my Father, do not believe me.

I knew that you always listen to me, but I said this for the sake of the crowd standing around here, that they may believe that you sent me.”

If I had not performed among them the miraculous deeds that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen the deeds and have hated both me and my Father.

“Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man clearly attested to you by God with powerful deeds, wonders, and miraculous signs that God performed among you through him, just as you yourselves know–

And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised, so that he would become the father of all those who believe but have never been circumcised, that they too could have righteousness credited to them.

“Food is for the stomach and the stomach is for food, but God will do away with both.” The body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

If I am not an apostle to others, at least I am to you, for you are the confirming sign of my apostleship in the Lord.

because we are not looking at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen. For what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.

for the one bringing forth in you both the desire and the effort– for the sake of his good pleasure– is God.

These are all destined to perish with use, founded as they are on human commands and teachings.

because we recall in the presence of our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and endurance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thus we must make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by following the same pattern of disobedience.

For the sun rises with its heat and dries up the meadow; the petal of the flower falls off and its beauty is lost forever. So also the rich person in the midst of his pursuits will wither away.

For he received honor and glory from God the Father, when that voice was conveyed to him by the Majestic Glory:“This is my dear Son, in whom I am delighted.”
