for the one bringing forth in you both the desire and the effort– for the sake of his good pleasure– is God.

These are all destined to perish with use, founded as they are on human commands and teachings.

because we recall in the presence of our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and endurance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thus we must make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by following the same pattern of disobedience.

For the sun rises with its heat and dries up the meadow; the petal of the flower falls off and its beauty is lost forever. So also the rich person in the midst of his pursuits will wither away.

For he received honor and glory from God the Father, when that voice was conveyed to him by the Majestic Glory:“This is my dear Son, in whom I am delighted.”
