Benjamin’s Tribal Lands The first lot belonged to the tribe of Benjamin by its clans. Their allotted territory was between Judah and Joseph.

The men of Judah attacked Jerusalem and captured it. They put the sword to it and set the city on fire.

But the man did not want to stay another night. He left and traveled as far as Jebus(that is, Jerusalem). He had with him a pair of saddled donkeys and his concubine.

David Occupies Jerusalem Then the king and his men advanced to Jerusalem against the Jebusites who lived in the land. The Jebusites said to David,“You cannot invade this place! Even the blind and the lame will turn you back, saying,‘David cannot invade this place!’”

These were the family leaders listed in the genealogical records; they lived in Jerusalem.

They did not destroy the nations, as the LORD had commanded them to do.
