and I have promised that I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, to a land flowing with milk and honey.”’

The Amalekites live in the land of the Negev; the Hittites, Jebusites, and Amorites live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live by the sea and along the banks of the Jordan.”

The Gibeonites Deceive Israel When the news reached all the kings on the west side of the Jordan– in the hill country, the foothills, and all along the Mediterranean coast as far as Lebanon(including the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites)–

They met Adoni-Bezek at Bezek and fought him. They defeated the Canaanites and Perizzites.

Now several non-Israelite peoples were left in the land after the conquest of Joshua, including the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites.

They did not destroy the nations, as the LORD had commanded them to do.
