You will pursue your enemies and they will fall before you by the sword.

The Amorite inhabitants of that area confronted you and chased you like a swarm of bees, striking you down from Seir as far as Hormah.

She said to the men,“I know the LORD is handing this land over to you. We are absolutely terrified of you, and all who live in the land are cringing before you.

When all the men of Israel saw this man, they retreated from his presence and were very afraid.

They defeated all the cities surrounding Gerar, for the LORD caused them to panic. The men of Judah looted all the cities, for they contained a huge amount of goods.

I wish the deliverance of Israel would come from Zion! When God restores the well-being of his people, may Jacob rejoice, may Israel be happy!

Α wicked person fled, though no one was pursuing, but the righteous person can be as confident as a lion.

Tell him,‘Make sure you stay calm! Don’t be afraid! Don’t be intimidated by these two stubs of smoking logs, or by the raging anger of Rezin, Syria, and the son of Remaliah.

When they ask you,‘Why are you groaning?’ you will reply,‘Because of the report that has come. Every heart will melt with fear and every hand will be limp; everyone will faint and every knee will be wet with urine.’ Pay attention– it is coming and it will happen, declares the Sovereign LORD.”

So hearts melt with fear and many stumble. At all their gates I have stationed the sword for slaughter. Ah! It is made to flash, it is drawn for slaughter!
