as well as wine that makes people feel so good, and so they can have oil to make their faces shine, as well as food that sustains people’s lives.

The Lover to His Beloved: I have entered my garden, O my sister, my bride; I have gathered my myrrh with my balsam spice. I have eaten my honeycomb and my honey; I have drunk my wine and my milk!The Poet to the Couple: Eat, friends, and drink! Drink freely, O lovers!

The LORD of Heaven’s Armies will hold a banquet for all the nations on this mountain. At this banquet there will be plenty of meat and aged wine– tender meat and choicest wine.

In the days of those kings the God of heaven will raise up an everlasting kingdom that will not be destroyed and a kingdom that will not be left to another people. It will break in pieces and bring about the demise of all these kingdoms. But it will stand forever.

How precious and fair! Grain will make the young men flourish and new wine the young women.

I tell you, from now on I will not drink of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”

And after taking the cup and giving thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank from it.

They offered him wine mixed with myrrh, but he did not take it.

So also you, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.

So then, because he was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one of his descendants on his throne,

He delivered us from the power of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of the Son he loves,
