Even my close friend whom I trusted, he who shared meals with me, has turned against me.

Then Jesus said to him,“Go away, Satan! For it is written:‘You are to worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’”

He answered,“The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me.

While they were at the table eating, Jesus said,“I tell you the truth, one of you eating with me will betray me.”

A Final Discourse“But look, the hand of the one who betrays me is with me on the table.

(Now Judas said this not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief. As keeper of the money box, he used to steal what was put into it.)

The Announcement of Jesus’ Betrayal“What I am saying does not refer to all of you. I know the ones I have chosen. But this is to fulfill the scripture,‘The one who eats my bread has turned against me.’

But Peter said,“Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back for yourself part of the proceeds from the sale of the land?
