David felt guilty after he had numbered the army. David said to the LORD,“I have sinned greatly by doing this! Now, O LORD, please remove the guilt of your servant, for I have acted very foolishly.”

I have indeed heard the people of Israel say mournfully,‘We were like a calf untrained to the yoke. You disciplined us and we learned from it. Let us come back to you and we will do so, for you are the LORD our God.

Then you will remember, be ashamed, and remain silent because of your disgrace when I make atonement for all you have done, declares the Sovereign LORD.’”

Jesus said to him,“I tell you the truth, on this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.”

Jesus said to him,“I tell you the truth, today– this very night– before a rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.”

But when he came to his senses he said,‘How many of my father’s hired workers have food enough to spare, but here I am dying from hunger!

And he went outside and wept bitterly.
