That is why a man leaves his father and mother and unites with his wife, and they become a new family.

David had also married Ahinoam from Jezreel; the two of them became his wives.

The LORD said to his people:“You are standing at the crossroads. So consider your path. Ask where the old, reliable paths are. Ask where the path is that leads to blessing and follow it. If you do, you will find rest for your souls.” But they said,“We will not follow it!”

You also do this: You cover the altar of the LORD with tears as you weep and groan, because he no longer pays any attention to the offering nor accepts it favorably from you.

Then the demons begged him,“If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.”

I say this as a concession, not as a command.
