Thus the poor have hope, and iniquity shuts its mouth.

“How can you say,‘I have not made myself unclean. I have not paid allegiance to the gods called Baal.’ Just look at the way you have behaved in the Valley of Hinnom! Think about the things you have done there! You are like a flighty, young female camel that rushes here and there, crisscrossing its path.

For I tell you, unless your righteousness goes beyond that of the experts in the law and the Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven!

Jesus said to him,“Friend, do what you are here to do.” Then they came and took hold of Jesus and arrested him.

But Peter said to him,“May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could acquire God’s gift with money!

So then, do not judge anything before the time. Wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the motives of hearts. Then each will receive recognition from God.
