The Babylonians Destroy Jerusalem The LORD God of their ancestors continually warned them through his messengers, for he felt compassion for his people and his dwelling place.

Persecution of Disciples“I am sending you out like sheep surrounded by wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.

So I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says,“Jesus is cursed,” and no one can say,“Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

Therefore it says,“When he ascended on high he captured captives; he gave gifts to men.”

because they hinder us from speaking to the Gentiles so that they may be saved. Thus they constantly fill up their measure of sins, but wrath has come upon them completely.

And those who live on the earth will rejoice over them and celebrate, even sending gifts to each other, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.
