TSK · Matthew 3:11

For I will pour water on the parched ground and cause streams to flow on the dry land. I will pour my Spirit on your offspring and my blessing on your children.

Then I will bring the remaining third into the fire; I will refine them like silver is refined and will test them like gold is tested. They will call on my name and I will answer; I will say,‘These are my people,’ and they will say,‘The LORD is my God.’”

and he was baptizing them in the Jordan River as they confessed their sins.

He proclaimed,“One more powerful than I am is coming after me; I am not worthy to bend down and untie the strap of his sandals.

He went into all the region around the Jordan River, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

So Jesus went with them. When he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to say to him,“Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof!

John answered them,“I baptize with water. Among you stands one whom you do not recognize,

And I did not recognize him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water said to me,‘The one on whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining– this is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’

For John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

Then as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them just as he did on us at the beginning.

Paul said,“John baptized with a baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, in Jesus.”

For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

he saved us not by works of righteousness that we have done but on the basis of his mercy, through the washing of the new birth and the renewing of the Holy Spirit,
