Now these are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon(called Peter), and Andrew his brother; James son of Zebedee and John his brother;

A Request for James and John Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to him with her sons, and kneeling down she asked him for a favor.

Going on a little farther, he saw James, the son of Zebedee, and John his brother in their boat mending nets.

He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James, and John, the brother of James.

Simon Peter, Thomas(called Didymus), Nathanael(who was from Cana in Galilee), the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples of his were together.
