Then they said,“Come, let’s build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens so that we may make a name for ourselves. Otherwise we will be scattered across the face of the entire earth.”

“This is what the Sovereign LORD says: This is Jerusalem; I placed her in the center of the nations with countries all around her.

Jesus as the Light of the World Then Jesus spoke out again,“I am the light of the world! The one who follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

and if you are convinced that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness,

for you were at one time darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live like children of light–

For you all are sons of the light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of the darkness.

The wall of the city has twelve foundations, and on them are the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
