Now David had been told,“Ahithophel has sided with the conspirators who are with Absalom. So David prayed,“Make the advice of Ahithophel foolish, O LORD.

When I heard these things I sat down abruptly, crying and mourning for several days. I continued fasting and praying before the God of heaven.

Please, Lord, listen attentively to the prayer of your servant and to the prayer of your servants who take pleasure in showing respect to your name. Grant your servant success today and show compassion to me in the presence of this man.” Now I was cupbearer for the king.

While at the banquet of wine, the king said to Esther,“What is your request? It shall be given to you. What is your petition? Ask for as much as half the kingdom, and it shall be done!”

Give thanks to the God of heaven, for his loyal love endures!

Then Jesus said to him,“What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man replied,“Rabbi, let me see again.”

Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God.
