Abraham approached and said,“Will you really sweep away the godly along with the wicked?

Finally Abraham said,“May the Lord not be angry so that I may speak just once more. What if ten are found there?” He replied,“I will not destroy it for the sake of the ten.”

Then Moses and Aaron fell down with their faces to the ground before the whole assembled community of the Israelites.

“Get away from this community, so that I can consume them in an instant!” But they threw themselves down with their faces to the ground.

Achan Sins and is Punished But the Israelites disobeyed the command about the city’s riches. Achan son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son of Zerah, from the tribe of Judah, stole some of the riches. The LORD was furious with the Israelites.

David Displeases the Lord by Taking a Census The LORD’s anger again raged against Israel, and he incited David against them, saying,“Go count Israel and Judah.”

in whose hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all the human race.

and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the life’s breath returns to God who gave it.

“I am the LORD, the God of all humankind. There is, indeed, nothing too difficult for me.

Consequently, just as condemnation for all people came through one transgression, so too through the one righteous act came righteousness leading to life for all people.

Besides, we have experienced discipline from our earthly fathers and we respected them; shall we not submit ourselves all the more to the Father of spirits and receive life?
