The Census and the Birth of Jesus Now in those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus to register all the empire for taxes.

But thanks be to God that though you were slaves to sin, you obeyed from the heart that pattern of teaching you were entrusted to,

Thanksgiving I always thank my God for you because of the grace of God that was given to you in Christ Jesus.

to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Paul’s Thanksgiving and Prayer for the Church We always give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you,

Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, acknowledging his name.

Whoever speaks, let it be with God’s words. Whoever serves, do so with the strength that God supplies, so that in everything God will be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.
