(Now Laban had two daughters; the older one was named Leah, and the younger one Rachel.

They traveled on from Bethel, and when Ephrath was still some distance away, Rachel went into labor– and her labor was hard.

The sons of Leah were Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn, as well as Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun.

These are the names of the sons of Israel who went to Egypt– Jacob and his sons: Reuben, the firstborn of Jacob.

But if the man does not want to marry his brother’s widow, then she must go to the elders at the town gate and say,“My husband’s brother refuses to preserve his brother’s name in Israel; he is unwilling to perform the duty of a brother-in-law to me!”

(Now the man’s name was Elimelech, his wife was Naomi, and his two sons were Mahlon and Kilion. They were of the clan of Ephrath from Bethlehem in Judah.) They entered the region of Moab and settled there.
