TSK · Zephaniah 2:8

The firstborn bore a son, and named him Moab. He is the father of the Moabites to this day.

"Come," they say, "and let's destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more."

Thus says Yahweh against all my evil neighbors, who touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit: behold, I will pluck them up from off their land, and will pluck up the house of Judah from among them.

For wasn't Israel a derision to you? was he found among thieves? for as often as you speak of him, you shake your head.

The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because Moab and Seir say, Behold, the house of Judah is like all the nations;

Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because the enemy has said against you, Aha! and, The ancient high places are ours in possession;

Thus says Yahweh: "For three transgressions of Moab, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime;
