The Departure of Saint Junias the Apostle
On this day, Saint Junias, one of the seventy apostles, departed. This apostle was born in Beth-Gabriel from the tribe of Judah. The Lord chose him among the seventy apostles. He received the Holy Spirit. Then he preached with the disciples and endured many hardships, accompanying the Apostle Andronicus in preaching the gospel of the kingdom, as mentioned on the twenty-second of the month of Bashans. After the Apostle Andronicus departed, this saint shrouded and buried him. He prayed to the Lord not to depart from him, and he passed away the following day. The Apostle Paul mentioned him in the sixteenth chapter of his epistle to the Romans.
