And his brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand, even Asaph the son of Berechiah, the son of Shimea,

Asaph the chief, and second to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, with psalteries and with harps; and Asaph with cymbals, sounding aloud;

Of Jeduthun; the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun with the harp, who prophesied in giving thanks and praising Jehovah.

And they cast lots for their offices, all alike, as well the small as the great, the teacher as the scholar.

[A Psalm of Asaph]. Surely God is good to Israel, [Even] to such as are pure in heart.

[For the Chief Musician; [set to] Al-tashheth. A Psalm of Asaph, a Song]. We give thanks unto thee, O God; We give thanks, for thy name is near: Men tell of thy wondrous works.

[For the Chief Musician; afer the manner of Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph]. I will cry unto God with my voice, Even unto God with my voice; and he will give ear unto me.

[A Psalm of Asaph]. O God, the nations are come into thine inheritance; Thy holy temple have they defiled; They have laid Jerusalem in heaps.

[For the Chief Musician; set to the Gittith. [A Psalm] of Asaph]. Sing aloud unto God our strength: Make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.

[A Song, a Psalm of Asaph]. O God, keep not thou silence: Hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.
