But Jehovah said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have rejected him: for [Jehovah seeth] not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but Jehovah looketh on the heart.

For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, That his iniquity will not be found out and be hated.

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, But the end thereof are the ways of death.

Most men will proclaim every one his own kindness; But a faithful man who can find?

There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, And [yet] are not washed from their filthiness.

TEKEL; thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.

The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

For if a man thinketh himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he that searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto each one of you according to your works.
