And Sarai^H8297 was barren;^H6135 she had no child.^H2056

And Sarai^H8297 said^H559 unto Abram,^H87 Behold now, Jehovah^H3068 hath restrained me^H6113 from bearing;^H3205 go in,^H935 I pray thee, unto my handmaid;^H8198 it may^H194 be that I shall obtain children^H1129 by her. And Abram^H87 hearkened^H8085 to the voice^H6963 of Sarai.^H8297

And God^H430 remembered^H2142 Rachel,^H7354 and God^H430 hearkened^H8085 to her, and opened^H6605 her womb.^H7358

And she vowed^H5087 a vow,^H5088 and said,^H559 O Jehovah^H3068 of hosts,^H6635 if thou wilt indeed^H7200 look^H7200 on the affliction^H6040 of thy handmaid,^H519 and remember^H2142 me, and not forget^H7911 thy handmaid,^H519 but wilt give^H5414 unto thy handmaid^H519 a man-child,^{H582 H2233} then I will give^H5414 him unto Jehovah^H3068 all the days^H3117 of his life,^H2416 and there shall no razor^H4177 come^H5927 upon his head.^H7218

And they were helped^H5826 against them, and the Hagrites^H1905 were delivered^H5414 into their hand,^H3027 and all that were with them; for they cried^H2199 to God^H430 in the battle,^H4421 and he was entreated^H6279 of them, because they put their trust^H982 in him.

So we fasted^H6684 and besought^H1245 our God^H430 for this: and he was entreated^H6279 of us.

O thou that hearest^H8085 prayer,^H8605 Unto thee shall all flesh^H1320 come.^H935

Lo, children^H1121 are a heritage^H5159 of Jehovah;^H3068 [And] the fruit^H6529 of the womb^H990 is [his] reward.^H7939

The fear^H4034 of the wicked,^H7563 it shall come^H935 upon him; And the desire^H8378 of the righteous^H6662 shall be granted.^H5414

Then shalt thou call,^H7121 and Jehovah^H3068 will answer;^H6030 thou shalt cry,^H7768 and he will say,^H559 Here I am. If thou take away^H5493 from the midst^H8432 of thee the yoke,^H4133 the putting forth^H7971 of the finger,^H676 and speaking^H1696 wickedly;^H205

And^G2532 they^G846 had^G2258 no^G3756 child,^G5043 because that^G2530 Elisabeth^G1665 was^G2258 barren,^G4723 and^G2532 they^G846 both^G297 were^G2258 [now] well stricken^G4260 in^G1722 years.^G2250

And^G1161 not^G3756 only^G3440 so; but^{G235 G2192} Rebecca^G4479 also^G2532 having^G2192 conceived^G2845 by^G1537 one,^G1520 [even] by^G3962 our^G2257 father^G3962 Isaac—^G2464
