And it came to pass, while Israel^H3478 dwelt^H7931 in that land,^H776 that Reuben^H7205 went^H3212 and lay^H7901 with Bilhah^H1090 his father's^H1 concubine:^H6370 and Israel^H3478 heard^H8085 of it. Now the sons^H1121 of Jacob^H3290 were twelve:^H8147

And these are the names^H8034 of the children^H1121 of Israel,^H3478 who came^H935 into Egypt,^H4714 Jacob^H3290 and his sons:^H1121 Reuben,^H7205 Jacob's^H3290 first-born.^H1060

And the children^H1121 of Reuben,^H7205 Israel's^H3478 first-born,^H1060 their generations,^H8435 by their families,^H4940 by their fathers'^H1 houses,^H1004 according to the number^H4557 of the names,^H8034 by their polls,^H1538 every male^H2145 from twenty^H6242 years^H8141 old^H1121 and upward,^H4605 all that were able to go forth^H3318 to war;^H6635

but he shall acknowledge^H5234 the first-born,^H1060 the son^H1121 of the hated,^H8130 by giving^H5414 him a double^H8147 portion^H6310 of all that he hath;^H4672 for he is the beginning^H7225 of his strength;^H202 the right^H4941 of the first-born^H1062 is his.

Let Reuben^H7205 live,^H2421 and not die;^H4191 Nor let his men^H4962 be few.^H4557

And the sons^H1121 of Reuben^H7205 the first-born^H1060 of Israel^H3478 (for he was the first-born;^H1060 but, forasmuch as he defiled^H2490 his father's^H1 couch,^H3326 his birthright^H1062 was given^H5414 unto the sons^H1121 of Joseph^H3130 the son^H1121 of Israel;^H3478 and the genealogy is not to be reckoned^H3187 after the birthright.^H1062

And smote^H5221 all the first-born^H1060 in Egypt,^H4714 The chief^H7225 of their strength^H202 in the tents^H168 of Ham.^H2526

And by the border^H1366 of Ephraim,^H669 from the east^H6921 side^H6285 even unto the west^H3220 side,^H6285 Reuben,^H7205 one^H259 [portion].
