Is this your joyous^H5947 [city], whose antiquity^H6927 is of ancient^H6924 days,^H3117 whose feet^H7272 carried^H2986 her afar off^H7350 to sojourn?^H1481

Therefore thus saith^H559 Jehovah^H3068 concerning the king^H4428 of Assyria,^H804 He shall not come^H935 unto this city,^H5892 nor shoot^H3384 an arrow^H2671 there, neither shall he come before^H6923 it with shield,^H4043 nor cast^H8210 up a mound^H5550 against it.

If I go forth^H3318 into the field,^H7704 then, behold, the slain^H2491 with the sword!^H2719 and if I enter^H935 into the city,^H5892 then, behold, they that are sick^H8463 with famine!^H7458 for both the prophet^H5030 and the priest^H3548 go about^H5503 in the land,^H776 and have no knowledge.^H3045

In the fourth^H7243 month,^H2320 in the ninth^H8672 day of the month,^H2320 the famine^H7458 was sore^H2388 in the city,^H5892 so that there was no bread^H3899 for the people^H5971 of the land.^H776

They that are slain^H2491 with the sword^H2719 are better^H2896 than they that are slain^H2491 with hunger;^H7458 For these^H1992 pine away,^H2100 stricken^H1856 through, for want of the fruits^H8570 of the field.^H7704

—ye that put far away^H5077 the evil^H7451 day,^H3117 and cause the seat^H7675 of violence^H2555 to come near;^H5066
