But the army^H2428 of the Chaldeans^H3778 pursued^H7291 after^H310 the king,^H4428 and overtook^H5381 him in the plains^H6160 of Jericho;^H3405 and all his army^H2428 was scattered^H6327 from him.

And the captain^H7227 of the guard^H2876 took^H3947 Seraiah^H8304 the chief^H7218 priest,^H3548 and Zephaniah^H6846 the second^H4932 priest,^H3548 and the three^H7969 keepers^H8104 of the threshold:^H5592

Behold, I will stir up^H5782 the Medes^H4074 against them, who shall not regard^H2803 silver,^H3701 and as for gold,^H2091 they shall not delight^H2654 in it.

I was wroth^H7107 with my people,^H5971 I profaned^H2490 mine inheritance,^H5159 and gave^H5414 them into thy hand:^H3027 thou didst show^H7760 them no mercy;^H7356 upon the aged^H2205 hast thou very^H3966 heavily^H3513 laid thy yoke.^H5923

When they fast,^H6684 I will not hear^H8085 their cry;^H7440 and when they offer^H5927 burnt-offering^H5930 and meal-offering,^H5930 I will not accept^H7521 them; but I will consume^H3615 them by the sword,^H2719 and by the famine,^H7458 and by the pestilence.^H1698

For thus saith^H559 Jehovah,^H3068 Behold, I will make^H5414 thee a terror^H4032 to thyself, and to all thy friends;^H157 and they shall fall^H5307 by the sword^H2719 of their enemies,^H341 and thine eyes^H5869 shall behold^H7200 it; and I will give^H5414 all Judah^H3063 into the hand^H3027 of the king^H4428 of Babylon,^H894 and he shall carry them captive^H1540 to Babylon,^H894 and shall slay^H5221 them with the sword.^H2719

and Zedekiah^H6667 king^H4428 of Judah^H3063 shall not escape^H4422 out of the hand^H3027 of the Chaldeans,^H3778 but shall surely^H5414 be delivered^H5414 into the hand^H3027 of the king^H4428 of Babylon,^H894 and shall speak^H1696 with him mouth^H6310 to mouth,^H6310 and his eyes^H5869 shall behold^H7200 his eyes;^H5869

And concerning Jehoiakim^H3079 king^H4428 of Judah^H3063 thou shalt say,^H559 Thus saith^H559 Jehovah:^H3068 Thou hast burned^H8313 this roll,^H4039 saying,^H559 Why hast thou written^H3789 therein, saying,^H559 The king^H4428 of Babylon^H894 shall certainly^H935 come^H935 and destroy^H7843 this land,^H776 and shall cause to cease^H7673 from thence man^H120 and beast?^H929

But if thou refuse^H3986 to go forth,^H3318 this is the word^H1697 that Jehovah^H3068 hath showed^H7200 me:

Israel^H3478 is a hunted^H6340 sheep;^H7716 the lions^H738 have driven him away:^H5080 first,^H7223 the king^H4428 of Assyria^H804 devoured^H398 him; and now at last^H314 Nebuchadrezzar^H5019 king^H4428 of Babylon^H894 hath broken his bones.^H6105

And he put out^H5786 the eyes^H5869 of Zedekiah;^H6667 and the king^H4428 of Babylon^H894 bound^H631 him in fetters,^H5178 and carried^H935 him to Babylon,^H894 and put^H5414 him in prison^H1004 till the day^H3117 of his death.^H4194

And the king^H4428 of Babylon^H894 smote^H5221 them, and put them to death^H4191 at Riblah^H7247 in the land^H127 of Hamath.^H2574 So Judah^H3063 was carried away captive^H1540 out of his land.^H776

Thou hast called,^H7121 as in the day^H3117 of a solemn^H4150 assembly, my terrors^H4032 on every side;^H5439 And there was none that escaped^H6412 or remained^H8300 in the day^H3117 of Jehovah's^H3068 anger:^H639 Those that I have dandled^H2946 and brought up^H7235 hath mine enemy^H341 consumed.^H3615

Therefore will I also deal^H6213 in wrath;^H2534 mine eye^H5869 shall not spare,^H2347 neither will I have pity;^H2550 and though they cry^H7121 in mine ears^H241 with a loud^H1419 voice,^H6963 yet will I not hear^H8085 them.

And as for me also, mine eye^H5869 shall not spare,^H2347 neither will I have pity,^H2550 but I will bring^H5414 their way^H1870 upon their head.^H7218

And I will spread^H6566 my net^H7568 upon him, and he shall be taken^H8610 in my snare,^H4686 and I will bring^H935 him to Babylon,^H894 and will enter into judgment^H8199 with him there for his trespass^H4603 that he hath trespassed^H4604 against me.

For, lo, I raise up^H6965 the Chaldeans,^H3778 that bitter^H4751 and hasty^H4116 nation,^H1471 that march^H1980 through the breadth^H4800 of the earth,^H776 to possess^H3423 dwelling-places^H4908 that are not theirs.
