and Esau^H6215 said^H559 to Jacob,^H3290 Feed^H3938 me, I pray thee, with^H4480 that same^H122 red^H122 [pottage]; for I am faint:^H5889 therefore was his name^H8034 called^H7121 Edom.^H123

And Esau^H6215 dwelt^H3427 in mount^H2022 Seir:^H8165 Esau^H6215 is Edom.^H123

These are the chiefs^H441 of the sons^H1121 of Esau:^H6215 the sons^H1121 of Eliphaz^H464 the first-born^H1060 of Esau:^H6215 chief^H441 Teman,^H8487 chief^H441 Omar,^H201 chief^H441 Zepho,^H6825 chief^H441 Kenaz,^H7073

And Moses^H4872 sent^H7971 messengers^H4397 from Kadesh^H6946 unto the king^H4428 of Edom,^H123 Thus saith^H559 thy brother^H251 Israel,^H3478 Thou knowest^H3045 all the travail^H8513 that hath befallen^H4672 us:

Thou shalt not abhor^H8581 an Edomite;^H130 for he is thy brother:^H251 thou shalt not abhor^H8581 an Egyptian,^H4713 because thou wast a sojourner^H1616 in his land.^H776

Now when Job's^H347 three^H7969 friends^H7453 heard^H8085 of all this evil^H7451 that was come^H935 upon him, they came^H935 every one^H376 from his own place:^H4725 Eliphaz^H464 the Temanite,^H8489 and Bildad^H1085 the Shuhite,^H7747 and Zophar^H6691 the Naamathite,^H5284 and they made an appointment^H3259 together^H3162 to come^H935 to bemoan^H5110 him and to comfort^H5162 him.

He frustrateth^H6565 the devices^H4284 of the crafty,^H6175 So that their hands^H3027 cannot perform^H6213 their enterprise.^H8454

They have said,^H559 Come,^H3212 and let us cut them off^H3582 from being a nation;^H1471 That the name^H8034 of Israel^H3478 may be no more in remembrance.^H2142

The princes^H8269 of Zoan^H6814 are utterly foolish;^H191 the counsel^H6098 of the wisest^H2450 counsellors^H3289 of Pharaoh^H6547 is become brutish:^H1197 how say^H559 ye unto Pharaoh,^H6547 I am the son^H1121 of the wise,^H2450 the son^H1121 of ancient^H6924 kings?^H4428

therefore, behold, I will proceed^H3254 to do a marvellous work^H6381 among this people,^H5971 even a marvellous work^H6381 and a wonder;^H6382 and the wisdom^H2451 of their wise^H2450 men shall perish,^H6 and the understanding^H998 of their prudent^H995 men shall be hid.^H5641

For my sword^H2719 hath drunk^H7301 its fill in heaven:^H8064 behold, it shall come down^H3381 upon Edom,^H123 and upon the people^H5971 of my curse,^H2764 to judgment.^H4941

Then said^H559 they, Come,^H3212 and let us devise^H2803 devices^H4284 against Jeremiah;^H3414 for the law^H8451 shall not perish^H6 from the priest,^H3548 nor counsel^H6098 from the wise,^H2450 nor the word^H1697 from the prophet.^H5030 Come,^H3212 and let us smite^H5221 him with the tongue,^H3956 and let us not give heed^H7181 to any of his words.^H1697

Edom,^H123 and Moab,^H4124 and the children^H1121 of Ammon;^H5983

Therefore hear^H8085 ye the counsel^H6098 of Jehovah,^H3068 that he hath taken^H3289 against Edom;^H123 and his purposes,^H4284 that he hath purposed^H2803 against the inhabitants^H3427 of Teman:^H8487 Surely they shall drag them away,^H5498 [even] the little^H6810 ones of the flock;^H6629 surely he shall make their habitation^H5116 desolate^H8074 over them.

Thus saith^H559 the Lord^H136 Jehovah:^H3069 Because that Edom^H123 hath dealt^H6213 against the house^H1004 of Judah^H3063 by taking^H5358 vengeance,^H5359 and hath greatly^H816 offended,^H816 and revenged^H5358 himself upon them;

He shall enter^H935 also into the glorious^H6643 land,^H776 and many^H7227 [countries] shall be overthrown;^H3782 but these shall be delivered^H4422 out of his hand:^H3027 Edom,^H123 and Moab,^H4124 and the chief^H7225 of the children^H1121 of Ammon.^H5983

Thus saith^H559 Jehovah:^H3068 For three^H7969 transgressions^H6588 of Edom,^H123 yea, for four,^H702 I will not turn away^H7725 the punishment thereof; because he did pursue^H7291 his brother^H251 with the sword,^H2719 and did cast off^H7843 all pity,^H7356 and his anger^H639 did tear^H2963 perpetually,^H5703 and he kept^H8104 his wrath^H5678 for ever:^H5331

God^H433 came^H935 from Teman,^H8487 And the Holy One^H6918 from mount^H2022 Paran.^H6290 Selah.^H5542 His glory^H1935 covered^H3680 the heavens,^H8064 And the earth^H776 was full^H4390 of his praise.^H8416

Whereas Edom^H123 saith,^H559 We are beaten^H7567 down, but we will return^H7725 and build^H1129 the waste places;^H2723 thus saith^H559 Jehovah^H3068 of hosts,^H6635 They shall build,^H1129 but I will throw down;^H2040 and men shall call^H7121 them The border^H1366 of wickedness,^H7564 and The people^H5971 against whom Jehovah^H3068 hath indignation^H2194 for^H5704 ever.^H5769
