Only take heed^H8104 to thyself, and keep^H8104 thy soul^H5315 diligently,^H3966 lest thou forget^H7911 the things^H1697 which thine eyes^H5869 saw,^H7200 and lest they depart^H5493 from thy heart^H3824 all the days^H3117 of thy life;^H2416 but make them known^H3045 unto thy children^H1121 and thy children's^H1121 children;^H1121

then thy heart^H3824 be lifted up,^H7311 and thou forget^H7911 Jehovah^H3068 thy God,^H430 who brought thee forth^H3318 out of the land^H776 of Egypt,^H4714 out of the house^H1004 of bondage;^H5650

Thou shalt not plant^H5193 thee an Asherah^H842 of any kind of tree^H6086 beside^H681 the altar^H4196 of Jehovah^H3068 thy God,^H430 which thou shalt make^H6213 thee.

And they forsook^H5800 Jehovah,^H3068 and served^H5647 Baal^H1168 and the Ashtaroth.^H6252

And it came to pass the same night,^H3915 that Jehovah^H3068 said^H559 unto him, Take^H3947 thy father's^{H1 H6499} bullock,^H7794 even the second^H8145 bullock^H7794 seven^H7651 years old,^H8141 and throw down^H2040 the altar^H4196 of Baal^H1168 that thy father^H1 hath, and cut down^H3772 the Asherah^H842 that is by it;

But they forgat^H7911 Jehovah^H3068 their God;^H430 and he sold^H4376 them into the hand^H3027 of Sisera,^H5516 captain^H8269 of the host^H6635 of Hazor,^H2674 and into the hand^H3027 of the Philistines,^H6430 and into the hand^H3027 of the king^H4428 of Moab;^H4124 and they fought^H3898 against them.

Now therefore send,^H7971 and gather^H6908 to me all Israel^H3478 unto mount^H2022 Carmel,^H3760 and the prophets^H5030 of Baal^H1168 four^H702 hundred^H3967 and fifty,^H2572 and the prophets^H5030 of the Asherah^H842 four^H702 hundred,^H3967 that eat^H398 at Jezebel's^H348 table.^H7979

And he brake in pieces^H7665 the pillars,^H4676 and cut down^H3772 the Asherim,^H842 and filled^H4390 their places^H4725 with the bones^H6106 of men.^H120

And they forsook^H5800 the house^H1004 of Jehovah,^H3068 the God^H430 of their fathers,^H1 and served^H5647 the Asherim^H842 and the idols:^H6091 and wrath^H7110 came upon Judah^H3063 and Jerusalem^H3389 for this their guiltiness.^H819

His prayer^H8605 also, and how [God] was entreated^H6279 of him, and all his sin^H2403 and his trespass,^H4604 and the places^H4725 wherein he built^H1129 high places,^H1116 and set up^H5975 the Asherim^H842 and the graven images,^H6456 before^H6440 he humbled^H3665 himself: behold, they are written^H3789 in the history^H1697 of Hozai.^H2374

And he brake down^H5422 the altars,^H4196 and beat^H3807 the Asherim^H842 and the graven images^H6456 into powder,^H1854 and hewed down^H1438 all the sun-images^H6456 throughout all the land^H776 of Israel,^H3478 and returned^H7725 to Jerusalem.^H3389

And served^H5647 their idols,^H6091 Which became a snare^H4170 unto them.
