What is the Almighty,^H7706 that we should serve^H5647 him? And what profit^H3276 should we have, if we pray^H6293 unto him?

For he hath said,^H559 It profiteth^H5532 a man^H1397 nothing That he should delight^H7521 himself with God.^H430

They scoff,^H4167 and in wickedness^H7451 utter^H1696 oppression:^H6233 They speak^H1696 loftily.^H4791

Wherefore have we fasted,^H6684 [say they], and thou seest^H7200 not? [wherefore] have we afflicted^H6031 our soul,^H5315 and thou takest no knowledge?^H3045 Behold, in the day^H3117 of your fast^H6685 ye find^H4672 [your own] pleasure,^H2656 and exact^H5065 all your labors.^H6092

Yet even now, saith^H5002 Jehovah,^H3068 turn^H7725 ye unto me with all your heart,^H3824 and with fasting,^H6685 and with weeping,^H1065 and with mourning:^H4553

[ and] to speak^H559 unto the priests^H3548 of the house^H1004 of Jehovah^H3068 of hosts,^H6635 and to the prophets,^H5030 saying,^H559 Should I weep^H1058 in the fifth^H2549 month,^H2320 separating^H5144 myself, as I have done^H6213 these so many years?^H8141
